Sandstone is a Timeless Addition to Your Home and Landscaping

1 min read

Sandstone is one of our absolute favourite products. It is incredibly versatile and you can be sure that it will stand the test of time no worries!

Sandstone can be one of the most variable of natural products, with colouration such as tan, brown, yellow, red, grey, pink, white, and black. Because sandstone is composed of light coloured minerals, it is typically light tan in colour. There are other elements in sandstone which create colour variations, the most common of which is red, which is caused by iron oxide (rust). In some instances, there is a purple shade caused by manganese. It is not uncommon to see swirls and patterning through the sandstone pieces.

Sandstone can be used to build outdoor ovens, fireplaces, patios, retaining walls, mail boxes and walkways.

More recently, sandstone has been used to make outdoor furniture, such as garden benches or dining tables.

Sandstone is also used to make water fountains, garden planters and troughs, as well as urns and outdoor lighting fixtures. And remember, sandstone can also be used indoors as a long lasting, timeless feature building product.

We have some beautiful sandstone blocks and slabs in the yard at the moment and they will be on special until stocks run out. The larger blocks are now $160 each (normally $200), and the flatter slabs are $150 each (normally $190).

Because they are a natural product, it is worth coming in to the yard to choose just the right piece for you project.
